Sterling Silver Earrings With Real Blue Morpho Aega Butterfly Wing
There are many types of morphos. The blue Morpho Aega, or Brazilian Morpho, is probably one of the most popular butterflies used for jewelry and even as inlay for woodworking. The term Blue Morpho actually refers to several butterfly species. The territorial habits of the forest-dwelling Blue Morpho were exploited by the native peoples along the Rio Negro in Brazil who lured them into clearings with bright blue decoys. The collected butterfly wings were used as decorations for ceremonial masks.
The blue Morpho Aega butterfly is shown in profile in these sterling silver earrings, dancing in the wind. Cubic zircon gemstones sparkle gaily on one side of each earring. From one perspective, the earrings look like leaves. Designed for the free-spirited, stylish woman.
These delicate sterling silver earrings are also available using the wing of the Doxocopa Cherubina butterfly (Turquoise Emperor).
