Sterling Silver Earrings With Real Blue Morpho Aega Butterfly Wing
There are many types of morphos. The blue Morpho Aega, or Brazilian Morpho, is probably one of the most popular butterflies used for jewelry and even as inlay for woodworking. The term Blue Morpho actually refers to several butterfly species. The territorial habits of the forest-dwelling Blue Morpho were exploited by the native peoples along the Rio Negro in Brazil who lured them into clearings with bright blue decoys. The collected butterfly wings were used as decorations for ceremonial masks.
Shown here are round blue Morpho Aega butterfly sterling silver earrings. Round Morpho Aega ‘gems’ are set in the midst of sterling silver circles, which are suspended from smaller silver circles. Circles within circles, symbols of eternity. Both larger and smaller rings are studded with little sparklong cubic zirconia.
These elegant blue Morpho Aega sterling silver earrings are also available using the wing of the Morpho Sulkowski (Pearl Morpho) butterfly.
