Sterling Silver Pendant With Real Blue Morpho Aega Butterfly Wing
This sterling silver pendant shows the profile of a Brazilian Morpho Aega. It looks like a dainty little flower. Cubic zircon gemstones embellish this pretty butterfly with a touch of elegance.
The blue Morpho Aega, or Brazilian Morpho, is probably one of the most popular butterflies used for jewelry and even as inlay for woodworking. The term Blue Morpho actually refers to several butterfly species. The territorial habits of the forest-dwelling Blue Morpho were exploited by the native peoples along the Rio Negro in Brazil who lured them into clearings with bright blue decoys. The collected butterfly wings were used as decorations for ceremonial masks.
This lovely blue Morpho Aega sterling silver pendant is also available using the Diaethria Clymena (88 Butterfly) butterfly wing.
